ABOUT

Elizabeth
mom, marketer, sometimes-blogger
I have always loved a good project. I inherited my passion for DIY from my mom who was forever stenciling, caning, painting and refinishing. She was way ahead of her time when she knocked the wall down between our kitchen and family room to make it one big open space. Yup, my mom was all over "open concept" 40+ years ago!
After considerable encouragement from people I truly trust, I've started this blog as a way to chronicle our journey of downsizing from a 5,200 square foot custom home on 4 acres in the mountains of rural Vermont, to a 2,200 square foot condo in the heart of Vermont's largest city.
Last year, we found ourselves quickly approaching the empty nest phase when our third child left for college and our youngest was entering her junior year in high school. The downsize and move (closer to the youngest's school) made all the sense in the world, but after designing and decorating a custom home where we raised our children, a condo was a pretty big culture shock. Never one to back down from a challenge and loving opportunities to decorate and DIY, I'm embracing the journey!
I hope you enjoy seeing my efforts to transform our new home into a space that reflects our family's style, while also trying to make use of every space for storage and functionality. Thanks for visiting and sharing the journey with us!
